The Village Hall
The Trustees of Clifford Village Hall are pleased to announce the commencement of work on the expansion and refurbishment the village hall.
This project has been 5 years in the planning and is the result of obtaining grants of over £180,000 from local and National sources, the largest grant being the Biffa award .
The project will result in the doubling of the size of the kitchen, creation of new men’s, ladies and disabled toilets including baby changing facilities.
With the building work now commenced there is limited use of the hall and the Trustees would like to thank the users who have continued to utilise the hall with these constrictions (Children’s Dance Classes, Brownies and Guides, Pilates, Badminton, Harmony Squares, Qi Gong; a Chinese Exercise Class, an Upholstery Class, and a Quilters group) and are confident the other regular users (The Drama group , Scottish Country Dancing, the Daytones and Men’s Forum etc ) will return along with many new users when the work is completed and to make use of the fantastic new facilities .
The Trustees are working closely with the project manager from Ashfield Builders who are the main contractors to minimise any disruption to village life but if you have any concerns please contact any Trustee who will communicate this to project manager.
Unfortunately, like others in the village the builders have suffered attempted thefts on the site so if you see any suspicious activity please ring 111 and report it.
Work on the project is scheduled to be completed for the opening of the Clifford Beer festival in June so will give the village a great opportunity to sample the new facilities as well as the Beer!
Please note that the Village Hall is currently closed as a result of covid-19 restrictions and therefore the refurbishment work has been delayed. Further information will be published once a reopening date has been confirmed.
